A visit with Aurelio Ayela (19 November 2021)

Aurelio Ayela invited We Art members to explore his exhibition “Hipogea – El hueco interior” in the Museo del Aqua in Alicante. He has designed his art pieces for the Pozos de Garrigós – old water reserve caves located next to the water museum.

Aurelio Ayela works and resides in Alicante. He has earned his degree in graphic and industrial design at la Escola d´Art de Alcoy. In 1997, he was a founding member of the “Equipo Gloria” with artists Eduardo Infante, David Delgado, y Ester Ferrándiz. The group’s aim was to investigate, promote and develop new forms of drawing. His works has been exhibited in Spain and also internationally.

More than 20 of us met Aurelio outside the Museo del Agua on Friday evening. He showed us around his exhibition, and then we retired to a nearby bar. A few images can be seen below. You can read more about the artist and his work here (in Spanish only).
