The Book Club

One of the activities under the umbrella of our art club is a book club. The idea is simple: a book is chosen, everyone reads it (the allotted time is around one month), and then we get together to discuss the book. It is very interesting to listen to others’ impression of the same book. We come from different backgrounds and will often have different perspectives, which is precisely what makes this activity so interesting and enjoyable. On 30 March I participated in such a meeting for the first time. We met at the Pynchon bookshop/café and the book we had read was “The Year of the Hare” by Finnish author Arto Paasilinna, chosen for us by Kari. On this occasion, I participated and photographed the activity.

The venue: you enter what is a nice bookshop…

But then you find yourself in a nice café with funny decorations.
